An American multinational company which has grown to a world leader in automotive industry, building efficiency and power solutions is in a direct search for a suitable specialist for the position of Senior IT Storage/Backup Administrator for its Bratislava team.

Responsibilities:

• Provides guidance to Storage/Backup Administrators and Support Analysts
• Installs and maintains Storage Area Networks, Network Attached Storage, tape backup systems and related software including upgrades, preventative and corrective maintenance through the change management process and within scheduled maintenance windows
• Administers the configuration of Storage and Backup Platform and services for all JCI enterprise data centers
• Monitors vendors' support facilities for hardware and software updates and recommends and implements maintenance to keep systems current and well within vendors' support requirements
• Ability to recognize and respond to customer expectations with a sense of urgency
• Provides for service continuity by developing backup and recovery processes and procedures to support recovery from hardware and application failures
• Develops Disaster Recovery plans, procedures and test scenarios and participates in regular DR rehearsals
• Develops and maintains SOX procedures, adheres to SOX policies and gathers evidence for SOX audits

Requirements:

• 4-year University degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems
• 3 - 6 years of Storage/Backup Platform experience
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people of different skills, backgrounds, departments and management levels
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
• The successful incumbent in this position will have extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining and configuring Storage and Backup hardware, software and peripherals
• Advanced knowledge and skills of the SAN, NAS, tape library technology and backup system software is required
• Strong analytical skills are required to understand, diagnose and resolve technical situations to provide and maintain 24 by 7 data center services
• Experience with EMC storage platform, IBM tape backup solutions, Asynchronous data replication and storage visualization is strongly desired
